No. Counselling is private support, not a label that follows your child. There is no medical record, and we share nothing with their school. What happens in sessions stays between your child, their therapist, and you. The aim is to build skills and confidence, not to put a tag on your child.
Not at all. Bringing your child in is what caring parents do, and doing it early is a strength, not a failure. Children face things they do not yet have the words for, and a little support now can save a lot later. It is not a verdict on your parenting. It is you getting them help.
You stay involved throughout. Children do best when a parent is part of the work, so your child's therapist keeps you in the loop and, where it helps, gives you simple things to try at home between sessions. Your child gets their own space to open up, and you get the guidance to support them. We don't hand your child off.
Tell us after the first session and we will match your child with someone else. Fit matters even more with children, so you are never stuck with the wrong one. The free 15-minute chemistry call lets you get a feel for the therapist before your child ever sits down with them.
It is a short, no-pressure call with the therapist we have matched to your child, not a salesperson. You talk through what is going on, get a feel for them, and decide if it is the right fit. No payment, no commitment. If it feels right, you book the first full session. If not, we will match you with someone else.
We see children through to teens, 18 and under. We match your child to a therapist experienced with their age and what they are going through. For younger children that often means play-based approaches rather than sit-down talk, and we keep you involved throughout.
Many children settle into it within the first session or two, especially with play-based approaches that do not feel like sit-down talk. Your child is matched to a qualified therapist experienced with their age, at a practice led by Dr. Glenn Graves (Ph.D., EMDR), affiliated with the Singapore Psychological Society and the Singapore Association for Counselling. Lasting change is the work of a course, and your involvement matters. If it is not helping, we will look at a different therapist or approach with you.
A 60-minute counselling session ranges from $200 to $375 + GST, depending on the therapist we match your child with. You are never locked into a package. Psychoeducational assessments, for example for ADHD, autism, or learning needs, are a separate service, just ask on your call. If cost is a concern, bring it up on your free chemistry call. We offer a sliding scale and package rates, and we write the reports you need to claim on insurance.
